- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 120 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
- 150 g (¾ cup) granulated sugar
- 100 g (½ cup) brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk
- Gel food coloring (pink, purple, blue — or your choice of unicorn colors)
- 100 g (½ cup) granulated sugar (for rolling)
- Rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add egg, vanilla, and milk, mix well.
- Gradually stir in dry ingredients until a dough forms.
- Divide dough into 3–4 portions.
- Tint each portion with different food coloring (pink, purple, blue, etc.).
- Chill dough for 30 minutes (makes shaping easier).
- Take small pieces of each colored dough and gently press together into a ball for a marbled effect.
- Roll each ball in granulated sugar.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Bake cookies for 9–11 minutes, until edges set but centers are soft.
- While warm, top with rainbow sprinkles.
- Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
