Description

Tater Tot Casserole (Cheesy Hotdish) is a delicious and comforting dish made with ground beef, creamy ingredients, and topped with crispy tater tots.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Mix in 1 cup shredded cheddar until creamy.
  5. Spread beef mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or ovenproof skillet.
  6. Sprinkle with ½ cup cheddar.
  7. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until tots are golden and crispy.
  9. Sprinkle remaining cheddar over the top and bake another 5 minutes until melted.
  10. Garnish with parsley.
  11. Serve hot with a side salad or steamed veggies.
