Description
Delicious ground beef sandwiches topped with caramelized onions and melted cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 4 sandwich buns or brioche buns
- 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook slowly for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet with the onions. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Stir in garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto the buns and top each with a slice of cheese. Cover the skillet briefly or place under the broiler until the cheese melts.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Pair with fries, chips, or a simple salad.
Notes
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
- For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
