Description
Delicious and visually stunning White Sparkle Candy Apples that are perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 medium Granny Smith apples (washed & dried completely)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- White gel food coloring (a few drops for opacity)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (or clear almond extract for a frosty flavor)
- Edible pearl dust or white sparkle edible glitter
- 6–8 white paper straws or wooden sticks
Instructions
- Wash and dry apples thoroughly (remove all wax so coating sticks). Insert sticks firmly into the center of each apple. Set aside on a parchment-lined tray.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, stir in food coloring and extract.
- Working quickly, dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, twirling to coat evenly. Let excess drip off, then place on parchment paper to set.
- While still tacky, dust with edible pearl dust or sparkle glitter for a shimmering finish. Allow apples to cool and harden completely before handling.
Notes
- Ensure apples are completely dry for the candy coating to adhere properly.
- Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
- Experiment with different colors of food coloring for a unique look.
