Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Spinach & Feta Roll-Ups, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed, about 250 g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 g fresh spinach (or frozen, thawed & squeezed dry)
  • 150 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 50 g cream cheese (optional, for creaminess)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten (for binding and brushing)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano (or dill)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add onion and cook until soft.
  2. Stir in garlic, then add spinach and cook until wilted (or warmed through if using frozen).
  3. Let cool slightly, then mix with feta, cream cheese, oregano, pepper, and nutmeg. Add half the beaten egg to bind.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Roll out puff pastry into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  6. Spread the spinach-feta mixture evenly across.
  7. Roll up tightly from the long side, forming a log.
  8. Slice into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick rounds and place on a lined baking sheet.
  9. Brush tops with remaining beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  11. Best enjoyed warm as an appetizer, snack, or party bite.
