Description
Experience the colorful delight of Skittles Rainbow Fusion Ice Cream, a fun and vibrant treat that combines the flavors of Skittles with a creamy ice cream base.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup Skittles (sorted by color: red, orange, yellow, green, purple)
- ½ cup water (divided, 2–3 tbsp per color batch)
- Food coloring (optional, to boost vibrancy)
- Rainbow sprinkles
- Crushed Skittles (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt until sugar dissolves.
- Chill the mixture for 2–3 hours (or overnight) in the refrigerator.
- Divide Skittles by color groups. In small saucepans, add each color batch with 2–3 tbsp water. Heat gently until Skittles dissolve into syrup (strain if needed). Add a drop of matching food coloring to intensify the swirl color. Let cool.
- Pour chilled ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn until soft-serve consistency (20–25 minutes).
- Transfer half of the churned ice cream into a freezer container. Drizzle different Skittles syrups on top, swirling lightly with a knife. Add the rest of the ice cream and repeat. Sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles before freezing for extra fun.
- Freeze for 4–6 hours until firm.
- Scoop into bowls or cones, garnish with more sprinkles or crushed Skittles, and taste the rainbow swirl!
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, let the Skittles syrups cool completely before adding to the ice cream.
- Feel free to experiment with different color combinations of Skittles.
- This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
