Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch (20 cm) round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk until smooth. Mix in pink food coloring until you achieve a vibrant shade.
- Divide batter evenly into the pans.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat butter and cream cheese until smooth for the frosting.
- Gradually add powdered sugar, then vanilla, and mix until fluffy.
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese frosting.
- Place the second layer on top and cover the whole cake with frosting.
- Pipe pink buttercream swirls around the edges.
- Finish with colorful sprinkles for a festive look.
