Description

Delicious Peppermint Oreo Truffle Bites with a creamy peppermint center and a crunchy Oreo outer layer, coated in white chocolate and topped with crushed candy canes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz (½ block) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract
  • 12 drops red food coloring
  • ½ cup finely crushed candy canes
  • 24 Oreo cookies (filling included)
  • 4 oz (½ block) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz white chocolate or white candy melts
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)
  • Crushed candy canes (for topping)
  • Optional: white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Make the Peppermint Cream Center: Mix softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Add peppermint extract and food coloring. Fold in crushed candy canes. Chill 20–30 minutes to firm up. Scoop small balls (½–¾ inch) and freeze for 20 minutes.
  2. Make the Oreo Truffle Dough: Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor. Add cream cheese and blend until a soft dough forms. Chill dough 10–15 minutes.
  3. Wrap the Peppermint Centers: Scoop about 1 tbsp of Oreo dough. Flatten in your palm and place a frozen peppermint ball inside. Wrap and smooth into a round truffle. Repeat with all pieces. Freeze 20–30 minutes before dipping.
  4. Coat in White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate (and coconut oil if using) in the microwave or over a double boiler. Dip each truffle using a fork, tapping off excess. Place on parchment paper. Add crushed candy canes on top while still wet. Optional: drizzle more white chocolate for a pretty finish.
  5. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate truffles for at least 15 minutes to set.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
  • Adjust the amount of peppermint extract to taste.
  • For a festive look, use colored sprinkles instead of crushed candy canes.
