Description

A delicious cheddar bread that’s easy to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Pour in the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let rise at 230°C for 30 minutes.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, turn the dough out and shape it loosely into a ball.
  6. Using parchment paper, lift the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown.
  8. Carefully lift the bread out onto a wire rack and brush the crust with melted butter. Let cool before slicing.
