A delightful dessert that combines layers of vanilla ice cream and a surprise filling, perfect for any occasion.

- 1.5 liters vanilla ice cream (softened slightly for spreading)
- 2 cups chocolate ice cream (or any flavor you like: strawberry, pistachio, caramel, etc.)
- 1 cup crushed cookies or brownies
- ½ cup chopped nuts or candy (optional)
- 1 sponge cake layer or ladyfinger biscuits (enough to cover the bottom of the bowl)
- Whipped cream (for piping)
- Fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries)
- Chocolate shavings or drizzle
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Line a medium-sized round bowl (2–2.5 liters capacity) with plastic wrap, leaving extra overhang to help unmold later.
- Spread softened vanilla ice cream evenly inside the bowl, pressing it against the sides to form a shell about 1 inch thick. Smooth with a spatula and freeze for 1 hour until firm.
- In another bowl, mix chocolate ice cream with crushed cookies/brownies and nuts or candy. Spoon this mixture into the center of the vanilla shell, leaving space on top for the cake base. Press down gently to pack. Freeze again for 2–3 hours.
- Place a layer of sponge cake or ladyfingers on top to seal the bombe. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze overnight (at least 6–8 hours).
- To unmold, dip the outside of the bowl briefly in warm water and invert onto a serving plate. Peel away the plastic wrap.
- Decorate with whipped cream swirls, fresh berries, and chocolate drizzle.
- Slice through to reveal the hidden “mystery” chocolate (or chosen) center inside the vanilla bombe.

- For a more elegant presentation, use a piping bag for the whipped cream.
