Description

A delicious and hearty Million Dollar Lasagna recipe that combines layers of meat sauce, creamy cheese mixture, and perfectly cooked noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded, divided)
  • 12 lasagna noodles (cooked al dente)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Stir in marinara, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, egg, Parmesan, and 1 cup mozzarella. Mix until smooth.
  5. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
  6. Layer with noodles, then spread cheese mixture, followed by meat sauce.
  7. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce.
  8. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  12. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  13. Garnish with fresh parsley.

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with vegetables or lentils.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
