A delicious and hearty Million Dollar Lasagna recipe that combines layers of meat sauce, creamy cheese mixture, and perfectly cooked noodles.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion (diced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded, divided)
- 12 lasagna noodles (cooked al dente)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in marinara, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15–20 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, egg, Parmesan, and 1 cup mozzarella. Mix until smooth.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
- Layer with noodles, then spread cheese mixture, followed by meat sauce.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce.
- Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with vegetables or lentils.
- Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
