Description

A delicious and indulgent Loaded Cheesy Bacon Mashed Potato Bowl, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (1 kg) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) butter
  • ½1 cup warm milk or cream
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 68 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for topping melt pool)
  • Fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Optional: sour cream, green onions

Instructions

  1. Peel potatoes and cut into chunks.
  2. Add to a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
  3. Cook until fork-tender (12–15 minutes).
  4. Drain well.
  5. Mash potatoes with butter while still hot.
  6. Add warm milk/cream a little at a time until smooth and creamy.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (optional).
  8. Transfer mashed potatoes into a serving bowl.
  9. Make a small well in the center and add 2 tablespoons butter so it melts into the center puddle.
  10. Sprinkle cheddar cheese generously all over the top.
  11. Add crispy bacon pieces and top with fresh chopped chives.
  12. Microwave the whole bowl for 20–30 seconds, or place under a broiler for a few seconds until the cheese melts perfectly.
