Delicious fried beef round steak served with a flavorful gravy.

- 1 pound boneless beef round steak
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 4 tablespoons butter (for gravy)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for gravy)
- 1 cup whole milk
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Tenderize the beef round steak by pounding it to about half an inch thick.
- In a bowl, mix buttermilk and eggs. Coat each piece of steak in the mixture.
- On a plate, season flour with salt and pepper, then dredge each coated steak thoroughly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry steaks for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- For the gravy, remove cooked steaks but keep about 1/4 cup drippings in the pan. Melt butter, add more flour, and stir until golden.
- Gradually whisk in milk while scraping the pan. Cook until thickened and season with salt and pepper.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning according to taste.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice for a complete meal.
