Description

Juicy marinated chicken grilled to perfection, wrapped in warm pita or flatbread, and topped with crisp veggies and creamy homemade tzatziki. A Mediterranean street food classic you can make at home!


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 46 pita breads or naan (warmed)
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup tomato, diced
  • ½ cup red onion, sliced
  • ½ cup bell peppers, diced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).
  2. Heat grill or grill pan to medium-high. Cook chicken 5–7 minutes per side until charred and cooked through. Rest for 5 minutes, then slice.
  3. In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well and chill until ready to serve.
  4. Warm pita or naan. Fill with grilled chicken slices, cucumber, tomato, onion, and bell peppers. Drizzle with tzatziki and garnish with parsley.
  5. Fold and enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight.
  • Feel free to customize the veggies based on your preference.
  • Serve with extra tzatziki on the side for dipping.
