Description

This creamy beef bowtie pasta is a comforting and delicious dish that combines tender bowtie pasta with ground beef, creamy sauce, and a blend of cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp salt (for pasta water)
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 large yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 68 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for beef)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish/optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, and garlic, cooking until the meat is browned and the onion is soft.
  3. Stir in Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt. Add Worcestershire sauce and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes.
  5. Slowly add the beef broth, stirring until the mixture thickens. Then add heavy cream and cream cheese, stirring until smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted and combined.
  7. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and fresh parsley on top.
