Description
A delicious apple cobbler with a golden topping and a sweet, spiced apple filling.

- 6 large apples (like Granny Smith, Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- ¾ cup water
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ⅔ cup milk
- 6 Tablespoons melted and cooled unsalted butter
Instructions
- Wash and peel your apples, then slice and set them aside.
- Combine water, brown sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, vanilla extract, apple pie spice, and salt in a saucepot.
- Add the sliced apples and bring to a simmer. Cook 4-5 minutes. Set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 350℉. Lightly grease your 9×13-inch baking dish. Transfer the cooked apples to the baking dish.
- Make the topping by combining flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl. Add milk and melted butter. Stir until just combined.
- Spread the topping over the apples.
- Bake the apple cobbler for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
