Description

A delicious homemade orange marmalade that combines the sweet and tangy flavors of oranges and lemon.


Ingredients

  • 4 large fresh oranges (approximately 2 cups juice)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges, zest one without the pith, then juice all and strain out seeds.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, zest, sugar, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally; reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. To test consistency, drop a spoonful onto a cold plate; if it holds its shape when tilted, it’s ready.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool before pouring into sterilized jars and sealing tightly.
  6. Allow jars to cool completely before refrigerating or gifting.
