Description

A delicious and hearty Deep Dish Meat Lover’s Pizza Pie loaded with meats and cheeses, perfect for pizza lovers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth, about 8 minutes.
  3. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. In a skillet, cook ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain fat.
  5. Add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  6. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes until thickened.
  7. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a deep-dish or springform pan.
  8. Roll dough into a large circle and press into the pan, letting it go up the sides.
  9. Layer with 2 cups mozzarella, provolone, and half the Parmesan.
  10. Add a layer of pepperoni if using.
  11. Spread meat sauce evenly on top.
  12. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  13. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  14. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing.
  15. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve warm.

  • For a spicier pizza, add more red pepper flakes.
  • Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing to prevent toppings from sliding off.
