Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes or diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup red onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup tortilla chips (triangles or crushed)
  • ½1 cup guacamole
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Salsa or pico de gallo (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add taco seasoning and water.
  5. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thick and saucy. Set aside to cool slightly.
  6. In each bowl, layer lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, warm taco beef, shredded cheddar, and tortilla chips for crunch.
  7. Finish with a big scoop of guacamole, a spoon of sour cream, a drizzle of salsa or pico, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.
