Description

Crispy Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls are a delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, wrapped in crispy egg roll wrappers and filled with savory beef, cheese, and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye steak or ground beef (thinly sliced or chopped)
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely diced (optional)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, diced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 810 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 ½ cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onions, peppers, and mushrooms; sauté until softened.
  3. Add steak or ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
  4. Drain excess grease. Stir in shredded provolone until melty. Let mixture cool slightly.
  5. Lay out one egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape.
  6. Spoon 2–3 tbsp of filling into the center.
  7. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, fold in the sides, then roll tightly.
  8. Brush edges with beaten egg to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.
  9. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes per side).
  11. Drain on paper towels.
  12. Slice diagonally for that classic Philly look.
  13. Serve with cheese sauce, ranch, or spicy ketchup for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add jalapeños to the filling.
  • These egg rolls can be baked instead of fried for a healthier option.
  • Leftover filling can be used in sandwiches or salads.
