Description

A creamy and delicious white chicken lasagna recipe that combines tender chicken, rich cheeses, and a flavorful white sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and chopped (optional but delicious)
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 3 cups milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ cup Parmesan, grated
  • Salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan, for topping
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to make a roux. Gradually whisk in milk and cream until smooth. Stir in Parmesan, onion powder, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–4 minutes until creamy and slightly thickened, then remove from heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, bacon, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly blended.
  3. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Spread a thin layer of white sauce on the bottom of a greased baking dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by chicken mixture, then white sauce. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with sauce and cheese on top. Sprinkle extra mozzarella and Parmesan over the final layer.
  4. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes, until bubbly and golden. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing (this helps the layers set).

Notes
