Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels are a festive and delicious appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup dried cranberries (or fresh cranberries, finely chopped & sweetened)
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, honey, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in cranberries and chives.
- Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the pastry. Roll pastry tightly into a log. Slice into ~16 equal rounds.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place pinwheels cut-side up on sheet. Brush tops lightly with egg wash. Sprinkle with Parmesan if using. Bake 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
- Garnish with extra chives and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a sweeter version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- Fresh cranberries can be used but may require additional sweetening.
- These pinwheels can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
