Description

Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels are a festive and delicious appetizer, perfect for holiday gatherings or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup dried cranberries (or fresh cranberries, finely chopped & sweetened)
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, honey, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in cranberries and chives.
  2. Roll out puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the pastry. Roll pastry tightly into a log. Slice into ~16 equal rounds.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place pinwheels cut-side up on sheet. Brush tops lightly with egg wash. Sprinkle with Parmesan if using. Bake 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  4. Garnish with extra chives and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a sweeter version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Fresh cranberries can be used but may require additional sweetening.
  • These pinwheels can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
