Description

Delicious and safe-to-eat Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars coated in chocolate, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour (heat-treated*)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk (more if needed)
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 2 cups milk chocolate (or semi-sweet), melted
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Make the safe cookie dough: Heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking tray and baking at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes to kill any bacteria. Let cool. In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Add cooled flour, salt, and milk. Mix until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  2. Shape the bars: Press cookie dough evenly into a parchment-lined 9×9 inch (23×23 cm) pan. Freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat with chocolate: Remove dough slab from pan and cut into bars. Dip each bar in melted chocolate to coat fully. Place on a tray lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top while coating is still wet.
  4. Set & serve: Refrigerate or freeze bars until chocolate is firm. Enjoy chilled for that chewy-cookie-dough-meets-crunchy-chocolate texture!

Notes

  • Ensure the flour is heat-treated to make it safe for consumption.
  • Adjust the amount of milk based on the consistency of the dough.
  • For a richer flavor, use semi-sweet chocolate for the coating.
