Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread (sliced in half lengthwise)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (or 2 tsp garlic paste)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1 cup warmed marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)
  • 1 cup nacho cheese or homemade cheese sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt until well combined.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment. Place bread halves cut side up. Spread garlic butter evenly over the bread. Sprinkle mozzarella (and Parmesan if using) generously over the top.
  3. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden top, broil for 1–2 minutes (watch carefully!).
  4. Slice into pieces. Serve warm with marinara sauce and cheese dip on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
