A delicious and savory dip made with caramelized onions and crispy bacon, perfect for parties and gatherings.

- 8 slices thick-cut bacon (chopped)
- 2 large onions (thinly sliced)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (or honey)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving 1–2 tbsp bacon fat in the pan.
- Add sliced onions to the pan and cook low and slow (about 15–20 minutes) until caramelized.
- Stir in brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, smoked paprika, and pepper. Simmer until thick and jammy. Add bacon back in and stir.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, Parmesan, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth.
- Spread the creamy base in a small baking dish.
- Spoon bacon jam generously over the top, swirling slightly into the cheese layer.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes until hot, bubbly, and slightly golden at the edges.
- Serve warm with toasted baguette slices, crackers, or pita chips.
Notes
- For a sweeter jam, increase the amount of maple syrup or honey.
- Can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
