- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder

- ½ tsp black pepper
- Oil, for frying
- ½ cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp honey (optional, for sweetness)
- 4 glazed donuts (split in half, toasted lightly if preferred)
- 4 slices cheddar or American cheese
- ½ cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken fillets in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Chill for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best flavor).
- Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Remove chicken from buttermilk and dredge in flour mixture until well coated.
- Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken pieces for 5–7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C). Drain on paper towels.
- Make the Buffalo Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine hot sauce, melted butter, and honey (if using). Toss fried chicken in Buffalo sauce until coated.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Slice glazed donuts in half. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half. Add Buffalo chicken fillet. Drizzle with ranch or blue cheese dressing. Top with the other half of the donut. Garnish with parsley and extra sauce if desired.

- For extra crunch, double fry the chicken.
- Adjust the level of spiciness by varying the amount of cayenne pepper and hot sauce.
