Indulge in the gooey perfection of Brownie Express Skillet, a quick and easy dessert that combines rich chocolate flavors with a soft, fudgy center.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (25 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 100 g dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (or chips)
- A handful of chocolate chunks (optional)
- A pinch of espresso powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small oven-safe skillet (6–8 inch) or ramekin generously with butter.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and baking powder together.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Stir into the dry mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chopped chocolate (and extra chunks if desired). Pour the batter into the skillet.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the top is set but the center is still slightly gooey. (For a molten center, bake closer to 18 minutes.)
- Let cool slightly, then serve directly from the skillet. Top with ice cream, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of espresso powder.
- Serve warm for the best gooey texture.
- Experiment with different types of chocolate for varied flavors.
