Description

Delicious and light blackberry cream puff bites filled with a creamy mixture and topped with fresh blackberries.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 120 ml (½ cup) water
  • 60 g (¼ cup) unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 70 g (½ cup + 1 tbsp) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 200 ml (¾ cup) heavy cream, chilled
  • 200 g (1 cup) mascarpone or cream cheese
  • 80 g (⅔ cup) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100 g (½ cup) blackberry puree (strained, optional for the purple cream)
  • Fresh blackberries (for garnish)
  • Blackberry jam (for drizzling)
  • Powdered sugar (light dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil.
  3. Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until dough pulls away from the sides.
  4. Transfer dough to a bowl, let cool 5 minutes.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth and glossy.
  6. Pipe small mounds onto prepared sheet (about 1–1.5 inches wide).
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until puffed and golden. Cool completely.
  8. Beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Divide into two bowls: Keep one plain (vanilla cream) and mix the second with blackberry puree for a purple cream.
  10. Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold into both mixtures.
  11. Slice puffs in half.
  12. Pipe a swirl of purple blackberry cream, then a swirl of vanilla cream.
  13. Place the puff lid back on.
  14. Top each puff with a dollop of blackberry jam.
  15. Place a fresh blackberry on top.
  16. Dust lightly with powdered sugar.

  • Ensure the heavy cream is well chilled for better whipping.
  • For a more intense blackberry flavor, use fresh blackberry puree.
  • These can be made ahead of time; just assemble before serving.
